Wild deodorant

Designed for re-use & ease of use.

How is it an example of design for reuse?

Wild, an in house designed project is an example of how an intimate personal hygiene care product, deodorant, can be redesigned to emit less of an environmental impact, whilst creating a higher ease of use for users. Whilst drawing in new customers to change their behaviour.

Using a modular approach, keeping deodorant and housing separate allows for the endless reuse and reapplication of a new deodorant insert. The design is key to ensuring users will want to adopt this new behaviour, alongside keeping the deodorant housing for long enough to outweigh that of a single use deodorant.

What other sustainable initiatives are Wild implementing?

The real sustainable element is shown at the point of subscription, where the housing is kept, and replacement deodorant (wrapped in a compostable paper) is replaced. As the replacements are part of a subscription delivering three refills also ensures minimal packaging required. These small methods of changing user behaviour, and design of how many replacements to send per customer are key to creating a bigger positive environmental impact.
